We are the faces and snoots behind Canine Cavalry SnaxBox.  We (the hoomans) met each other when we were at our lowest, and about to meet our Service Dogs.  Through Carl and Colin, and Vancouver Island Service Dogs, we met and found each other.  Our Service Dogs have opened up new things for us, and this is proof!  Thanks for checking out our page and treating your special canine to some tasty cookies!

Hey!  Welcome to Canine Cavalry!  If you've found yourself here, maybe you were doing a Google search or you saw us at one of the markets, and maybe you'd like a little more information about us.

So, we will start at the beginning!  Jackie and Brie met in April 2023 when they were at their first meeting to find out about Service Dogs, neither made eye contact with each other and made sure they didn't speak!  Fast forward to May, when Carl was paired with Jackie and Colin was paired with Brie.  Over the summer, they spent time in the parking lot after training, testing the waters, and trying to figure out who this other person was..... We mean, the other liked dogs, so that's a start!

Over the summer, they realized just how many things they had in common, including crafting, the love of baking, camping, doggos, kitties, our children/family (which is always our top priority), our background and pasts that led us to needing a Service Dog.  Brie started baking cookies for Colin, and then Colin turned 3, and Brie made him a Birthday Cake to take to Service Dog Class, and voila.... the ingredients were mixed for Canine Cavalry to become reality in a couple months.

Jackie with her expertise in Small Business, marketing, and having no fear, led the way.  Brie hopped on the graphics train and put on her bakers' hat to create recipes, and the perfect batter was created!  We started with four types of dog cookies in November 2023.  Jackie pulled a "FAST" one on Brie and within 24 hours we were ready for our first 4-day market.  We sold out all four days, having to bake every night until 3 am, and calling in our own cavalry (our husbands) to bake and shop for us to keep the cookies coming!

Fast forward to now, where we have not only created the Business of Canine Cavalry, but it has become a living,  breathing brand of our own including more than four types of cookies, Nutritional Supplements, Monthly Specials (ice cream, paw-retzels, and Monthly themed treats), a thriving Subscription Box (SnaxBox), LUX by Canine Cavalry (grooming line), Merchandise, and a Service Dog Ambassador Program and a Mental Health Awareness Program.  We love what we do - being able to bring quality, locally and ethically sourced dog treats and supplements to you and your Canine Hero.  We consider our Service Dogs our heroes, and they only deserve the best.

As for Colin and Carl, they are the CEOs (Cookie Eating Officers) of Canine Cavalry.  They are Brothers from another Mother and love hanging out and playing together.  They attend all the markets with us, and ensure quality control is maintained every step of the way, sometimes testing numerous cookies from the same batch - just in case.

Did you know, it costs upwards $30,000 CAD to train a PTSD Service Dog from the time they are ready to start learning (7-weeks old) to the time they are paired with their handler?  Ya, we didn't either; which makes sense as to why there is such a long wait list for Veterans and Former First Responders to be paired.  The sad truth is that we lose Veterans and First Responders to their demons while they are waiting for their life-changing and life-saving Service Dog.  We have pledged to give 10% of our proceeds back to Wounded Warriors Canada, specially to the Service Dog Program which supports organizations like BC & Alberta Guide Dogs and VICD whom train these life-saving heroes.

Canine Cavalry Service Dog
Ambassador Program

Are you an educator of young minds? Or work with children's groups, or adult groups?  We offer a 1-2 hour (depending on your needs/time contraints) presentation on Service Dogs.  This is what we have called our Ambassador Program, to educate and spread awareness about Service Dogs, types of Service Dogs, and etiquette around Service Dog Teams.

If you are in the communities where we live, we will cover the cost of travel; but we do ask for a donation to either our Cavalry Fund or to Wounded Warriors Canada-Service Dog Section.  If you are a school, we do not ask for a donation or travel.  Any presentations outside of our communities will be required to pay a stipend to cover gas, and if over meal time, to cover that as well.

If you would like to arrange an Ambassador Program Presentation, please contact us at colin@caninecavalry.ca
